Good Turnout for Drop-in Squash

[CALGARY, AB] – Seven adult squash players turned out for drop-in squash at the Acadia Recreation Complex on Saturday, February 14. Five were D-level players and two were C-level players.

The action this week featured two hours of King of the Court game time, some discussion and instruction regarding the rules of squash and some tips from a certified Squash Canada instructor.

Participants this week included Shelly (organizer), Rick, Rene, Michael, Chuck, Brent and David.

Next week, the instructor will be bringing some score sheets so that players can be introduced to official squash scoring. A copy of the GUIDE TO UNDERSTANDING THE RULES OF SQUASH will also be on hand for players to peruse between games.

Within a few weeks, we hope to have all of our regular drop-in players familiarized with rules and scoring.

This drop-in program is open to all members of Racquet Network. The intended level of participation is intermediate to advanced.

Squash Player Seeks NE Calgary Partner

CALGARY, AB – Hansen Ng is a D-level squash player who lives in northeast Calgary. He joined Racquet Network on January 16, 2009 and came out to our first-ever Challenge Court at the Southland Leisure Centre the following morning.

Hansen is keen to play and eager to learn. He is also young and athletic, so I expect he will advance from D to C-level fairly quickly.

If you live in northeast Calgary, I recommend giving Hansen a call. His phone number and email address are included in his player profile.

You can also look for Hansen at the Saturday morning Challenge Courts at the Acadia Recreation Complex and the Southland Leisure Centre. He is planning to drop-in at both places regularly.
